Own a Vine

The Barossa Cellars Vineyard

We are proud to be the owners of one of only 35 old vine source vineyards for the Barossa Cellars Block. The Barossa Cellar is a multi-million dollar showcase building and underground cellar to house both the administrative arm of the Barossa Wine and Grape Association and also the museum collection of wines donated by 57 (so far) Barossa wineries over the last decade. It is an extraordinary community achievement spearheaded by the Barons of Barossa fraternity and was officially opened in March as part of helping fund the project vines were sold after cuttings were taken from the aforementioned 35 old vine blocks, dating back to 1847. And they will form a 2000 vine vineyard from which wine will be made each year. Our cuttings came from our 1927 Koch vineyard at Rowland Flat and you have the opportunity to purchase a vine in our row. We have purchased a vine for each family member and we intend to organise a yearly lunch for all the vine owners in our row. Whilst it will be a few years before you get the opportunity to purchase wine of this special block, we thought we could drink our wines containing this block while we wait! If you would like to nominate for a vine make sure you mention “Koch block row” on the form and at the moment the BGWA are offering a $500 now & $500 in June 2021 payment scheme..
